We must be Innocent (Excerpt) | 2011 version
2 Videos Projected onto a wall
Music: Cavalleria rusticana : intermezzo
3:05
The work is about the topic of relationship between self-recognition and social expectations towards the concept of femininity. The artist uses woman body as a way to interpret this self-struggling. To obey social rules, one is trying to put on more layers to protect herself from possible sexual abuse. Ironically, the more layers she adds on, the more stress she gets. To follow social demands, one is resisting her own self-awareness. This is an installation of 2 video clips, projecting large scale frames onto a wall, respectively. Later it is altered to be a 2-channels video.
